Our proprietary stops are used to generate buy and sell signals for each constituent stock of two major indexes, the S&P 100 and the NASDAQ 100. We count up the number of buy and sell signals for each index and plot the data.

Tops typically take time to form since there is usually a lot of rotation among the leading stocks; bottoms tend to be easier to identify, since selling pressure tends to be extreme.
